This mural by Navot Miller graces the facade of the Mekif Ort school in Sajur. Reflecting Navot's appreciation of bold contrasts, it is an evocative play with colour and image that responds to the building's educational purpose.

Miller’s visual language is shaped by flat planes of saturated colour and influenced by artists like David Hockney and Amy Sherald. When we began the project in Sajur, finding an approach that would feel right within the Druze community wasn’t obvious. Through close conversation with local partners, we found common ground in nature as a shared space, leading to eight scenes that bring the surrounding landscape into the courtyard while honouring the building’s architecture.

The painting uses childhood objects, toys and scenes as inspiration. A palette based on the four primary colours evokes classroom encounters with art.
