Artist Niv Tishbi’s mural on the Tiberias sports hall brings together six distinct figures, each from a different age group and each with their own interests. Together they offer a colourful glimpse into the city’s layered history and the cultural diversity that continues to shape Tiberias today.

Tishbi’s visual language comes through in the crisp geometry, the limited yet lively colour palette and the playful sense of construction that holds the mural together. Each figure is built from simple shapes that slot neatly into place, echoing paper chains and cut-out games while keeping a clean, contemporary feel. The result is a composition that feels both crafted and spontaneous, rooted in childhood imagination yet firmly anchored in the present urban landscape.

Tishbi anchors the mural in the familiar motif of a human chain, using the sports hall’s natural divisions as a structural rhythm. Each section of the façade becomes a link, allowing the six figures to stand both alone and together, much like a paper chain stretched across a wall. This dialogue between motif and architecture turns the building into an active part of the artwork, reinforcing ideas of connection, community and the shared spaces that hold people side by side.
