TANT
LOCATION:
Tel Aviv
ART DIRECTION:
Ghostown
Ghostown’s very own Tant brings his bold, free-spirited world to Neve Sha'anan with a mural inspired by the neighbourhood’s mix of stories and cultures. Spread across the façade of a local pre-school, it injects brightness into a neglected corner of the city, filling it with colour, movement and playful characters drawn from its diverse immigrant communities.

The mural is like a story without a clear beginning or end, filled with bright figures and geometric shapes that open the door to imagination. Rendered in a naive, playful style, its scenes draw on everyday life in the neighborhood and on memories carried from distant places, shifting meaning each time someone stops to look.

This painting combines both abstract and real elements: Mount Hermon is visible on the horizon in its implied form and below it appears a decoration in blue and white, an echo of the river flowing in the city.
The figures in the painting represent soccer players, and between them can be seen a dove and two contrasting heads, a symbol of the brotherhood that prevails between the sporting rivals.
The use of blue, white and black represents the colors of the city's soccer team.
